Tempering is A203 Grade F hardened after heated to Ac1 (heating pearlite to austenite transformation start temperature) under a certain temperature, the heat preservation time, and then cooled to room temperature of heat treatment process.
Tempering generally followed by quenching, the aim is to:
(a) eliminateA203 Grade F when quenching residual stress, prevent deformation and cracking;
(b) adjust A203 Grade F hardness, strength, plasticity and toughness, meet the performance requirements;
(c) a stable organization and size, to ensure accuracy;
(d) improve and enhance A203 Grade F processing performance. Therefore, the temper is A203 Grade F last an important process to obtain the required performance. Through the combination of quenching and tempering, can obtain the required mechanical properties.
