S45C is a kind of super heavy steel for mould .with carbon content over 0.4%，with excelling in weldability and machinability ,but the ductility decreases, quenching distortion and cracking easily, so the heat treatment for S45C steel material is very important, and must be rapid cooling after tempering, to avoid the temper brittleness.S45C available as rolled or normalised. Supplied as square bar, or round bar or flat.

The following temperature ranges are applicable for the respective heat treatment operations.
